Grundfos - LCSE Hololens Experience

ABOUT

Grundfos is the world's largest industrial / consumer pump manufacturer, producing more than 16 million pumps per year & generating $4B+ in revenue annually. As part of their sales, marketing, & lead generation efforts, Grundfos exhibits at the annual AHR Expo, the largest HVAC tradeshow in the world (with over 70,000 attendees).

CHALLENGE

Grundfos' AHR exhibit was set to feature numerous sizes of floor models of their latest pump model, the LCSE, but management wanted an innovative way to let contractors, sales reps, & dealers 'see inside' the pump & showcase the cutting-edge engineering, key features, & new technolgy built into the LCSE.

SOLUTION

ShowMeVirtual brought the features of the LCSE to life through an innovative augmented reality experience for the Microsoft Hololens. To cater to the wide range of tech capabilities on the expo floor, we built a presentation that could be operated in a simple manner (or more advanced control), encouraging participants to explore the 1:1 scale pump from every angle, & 'see inside' the LCSE. The semi-transparency of the AR headset allowed for sales reps to present with participants & easily field questions without interrupting the user experience.

ShowMeVirtual also provided training & app documentation to Grundfos' exhibitor team to ensure Grundfos' brand ambassadors & sales reps were equipped to run & discuss the AR experience.

RESULTS

Grundfos management was so pleased with the user feedback & lead generation results of the AR experience that they increased the number of HoloLens headsets running the activation from 8 to 12 during the opening hours of the activation (by taking away all 4 headsets allotted to a different AR experience). The Grundfos LCSE Hololens AR experience ran at capacity for the duration of the tradeshow & was attributable to 'multiple LCSE pump sales.'
